Nice color! Unfortunately, that's the only good part. I bought it for an aquarium and I really agree with the "wash the sand if you want clean water" theory. That's why I always wash and mix the sand. I never got it completely clean, but this is important. Well, this sand really needs it. More than any other sand I've had before. I've found it turns the wash water blue and many of them are so shallow they just float to the surface and are eventually thrown away. I don't know how much floating sand I wasted. There are always some that swim and throw up, but this one seems exponentially worse than any I've used in the past. And to me, that sand thrown away feels like wasted money. As for my blue-tinted wash water, I'm on the fence. Yellowish-brown sand tends to stain the rinse water yellowish-brown. Probably just particles. Can be harmless. But I'm not sure if it's not some kind of dye, so I feel more compelled to rinse until it's clear. It took about 15 flushes in 2 days and eventually got better. Nice color. Although this is the best I can say about it. I would stay away unless you are incredibly patient.
