This removed the valve springs on my six cylinder engine, but with difficulty. There is little machining on the threaded rods and handle, and I've found the rods to get stuck in the handle before putting any stress on the unit. Under load, it became much more difficult to screw in and compress the spring, which caused the small screw handle to bend in my hand. The collet on the tightened side rotates on the spring side instead of the pin rotating in the collet. I am using this on an engine and will get the job done but will buy something else if I ever need to do it again.
