Review on Progressive Suspension 412 4260B Standard Replacement by Bennie Boss

Significant improvement over stock Year 12 Triumph Scrambler shock absorbers

Significant improvement over stock. The shock absorption is 10 times better than traditional trampoline-like bits. The bike tracks much better in curves. Impacts are better absorbed, especially small and medium ones. Switching to a scrambler is very easy, especially if you have a center stand (took 20 minutes). I loosened the exhaust pipe on the right side for extra space. Both dampers are locked with the supplied thin-walled bushings over the mounting bolts. The shocks have minimal adjustment (preload only) and the finish I would rate as 'decent' (black body and springs on mine). The shock and fork spring combo is very hard to beat for the Buck scales. My guess is that the extra hundreds spent on the suspension will add minimal additional improvement since the rest of the bike is likely to be the limiting factor.

Pros
  • Twin wall steel damper with multi-stage damping for speed sensing
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
