I am very happy with this lock. I originally installed dual gate openers with the intention of not using a lock. However, I soon learned that strong winds would force the gates to open and close. This happened several times in heavy rain and my dogs ran away. It turned out that the opening wasn't very good at holding the gate in place under any force and this would be a big problem if my sheep discovered this. As with my previous Gate Opener review, I wanted the install to look good, so I took a few extra steps to perform a clean install. Without going into too much detail, I drilled a hole near where the lock was attached, routed the wire through the gate and to the side next to the drive motor and through my channel on the gate post. . I think it looks a lot more professional and also doesn't just leave the wires exposed to UV cracking and rain. So far I've opened and closed the gate many times over the past few days and the line is perfect and the gate stays. closed during storm. The result: protection from dogs, coyotes and sheep!
