Addendum: I previously gave this case 4 stars, read this review below, but lately I've noticed that the touchscreen on my 2nd generation iPad Pro generation it does not recognize touch. If I wiggle the case properly or take it off, everything works perfectly. I've noticed this occasionally when replacing a broken case with a new one. Perhaps the old case was cracked, no pun intended, or the new case is a little firmer, but that could affect touch sensitivity. The case didn't shatter from the fall, but when it was removed to replace the SIM card, the plastic under the home button broke. Instead of risking weakness in a fall, I just swapped out the case and that's when all my problems started. I like the case for the protection it offers, the built in kickstand and the smoother, harder plastic as opposed to the softer, stickier Otterbox material, but this new case is just a thrill; The touchscreen always seems to stop working at the worst possible moment and the whole reason for this case is the defense it can't afford when I let the iPad out to get it working. This case is great. It's 2 parts, not 3 like an Otterbox. There's a plastic bezel that you clip around the screen, and then a half-rubber and plastic piece that wraps around the plastic bezel. This works great with tempered glass screen protectors. I've only broken one of my last ones in all these years and I believe it was due to a manufacturing defect as the plastic frame ripped when I lifted it. In this case, my previous iPad Air survived a fall down stairs with only one damage. strained glass. When you're spending that much on an iPad today, you need decent protection. They don't add too much weight or bulk and appear to be a good balance.
