When I first connected this the LED came on and then went out quickly. I tried and tried to get my software to recognize the COM port but it kept saying it couldn't open it. I asked a question about this and many people replied. Many Thanks. I ended up calling Tripplite and after being referred to four different techs I found I needed to install a driver for it that would map a com port. Nothing wrong with that, except that there was nothing on the box that I needed to download the driver. Now it works fine. I use it to download programs to my NovaPro100. However, the LED light never stays on. I do not know why. The only reason I was disappointed with it is that it took me a few days and some effort to figure out what the problem was. If there was something in the package to download the driver, there would be no problems.
