This is my first purchase and use of a nail gun. After renting one ($75 a day) and then buying an electric one that just wasn't powerful enough to install a baseboard, I started checking out Lowe's and Home Depot and asking a few questions. As it turns out, buying a nail gun alone costs about $150. Then you need a compressor to run it. So, combo packs in each of these locations essentially give you a nail gun or two for free. This Bostich pack is about $300 at Lowe's. My purchase through Revain was flawless except for the delayed order status which was sent out three weeks before the originally stated delivery time. It worked right out of the box and worked flawlessly. I saved a lot of time and the results look great - just a tiny hole to fill. Look for a good price - expect to pay around $250-$300 for a decent combo package. The compressor sits a step above entry-level compressors and can be used on other air tools in addition to nail guns. The two guns included in this set are a good compromise, one for driving rods into thin castings and the other for final nailing. You can get both smaller and larger nail guns, but this should suit most DIY needs.
