These socks, like some wool socks from other brands, need to be enlarged. That means those of us who are size 10 and up will have to buy XL instead of L. Merrell states this for a size 12+. I am 12.5. These socks are too loose. They are also not as warm or thick. However, they address and solve the age-old problem of the double sock. This is the perfect second layer. I bought another set because they make a great winter sock solution if you wear a full sock over a short one in winter. These are the "slippers" for those of us who love loose feet and hate slippers! - meets here well. This sock, while slightly loose and not too warm, works as a great second layer over "short socks". Bonus - they're not high socks. These are definitely great socks for early spring or mid-fall, but size XL is best for men's shoes 13.5-15. It's not warm enough for someone in boots on the street. I did my best. Cold! is there one inside Still cool. I didn't take much of a risk because I learned a truth about clothing that's almost always true — a manufacturer that makes a really big XL makes a really small L. To me, they're pajama socks. I love her for that! It's one of those things I wish someone would do, and it would be exactly the same - skinny, wool, loose and ankle length. Just enough to replace any old standard bob or sporty ankle sock. Voila! Le slipper time! Merrell is a great company and I love their products. This time Merrell two stars. Five stars for the best pajama sock and I believe other people reading this will buy for the same reason I bought them twice. So don't hate me for two stars. They are given due to the fact that this is a wool tourist. No, that is not so. They are too loose and too thin - at least for this purpose.
