The large water wheel won't stay in place, meaning the entire structure will collapse once you try to put it back together. The instructions are complex. I'd say maybe better for an 8 year old who knows how to fix bugs. The slides often do not have a sufficient downward angle and the balls often get stuck on the way. The wheel, if it hasn't already fallen off, will get stuck on the ball if you turn the gears the wrong way (which little kids probably will!). It requires constant care, vigilance, and warding off small hands to keep them from knocking everything over. Unnecessarily complex. I know it's obvious it was made in China, but the written portion of the instructions makes it painfully clear that little care was taken in the development of this design, especially given the age range advertised.
