Ok please watch my video to learn how this scale works but generally it works: 1. Comes with 3 tiny batteries which you just gently insert into the back use the scales2. Scales weigh you instantly, but they must be connected to your iPhone or Android; I have an Android/Samsung Galaxy S8 and went to my play store on my phone and just typed in Innotech Scale; it popped up right away and then I downloaded it to my phone. It will then appear as "Innotech" on your phone and display the following: BMIBody FatProteinWaterBone MassBMRVVisceral FatMuscleI like this scale because it allows you to control not only your weight but also your water, muscle and metabolism. I am currently doing keto/IF (intermittent fasting) and plan to do so for the rest of my life because of the good results I have had. Keto isn't always about weight loss, it's about inches, gaining muscle and losing fat - this scale shows you that even if you're not losing that many pounds; You can lose fat/water etc. I also like the look of this scale; it is so beautiful and smooth. It's also a good size, my feet are small (6.5/7) and there's plenty of room on this scale to step on. I would say it's glass so be careful not to move or shatter it. The scale has 4 small rubber bumpers on the bottom that keep the scale in place. I actually have it under my bed and not in the bathroom because 1. I don't want to constantly weigh myself (I would weigh myself if I saw him in my bathroom) and 2. I'm more likely to take my phone with me to my Checking body measurements in my bedroom than with my phone in the bathroom (we need to keep our phones more separate from people!).
