I have purchased four of these air mattresses and have had them for over a month now. I use one on the couch to sleep behind my back. Holds up well and is very comfortable. They are nice and wide and should be ideal for swimming in the pool. Update 06/25/2012 After 2 months of use, the seam came undone, the air mattress was not heavily used and never used in the water. The mattress is heavy vinyl but the stitching is weak. I would use this product with caution in a lake or ocean.
