It just looks cheap

I confess I haven't even installed this kit. After finally tearing down and disassembling the engine, I finally got around to inspecting this kit. I wish I could be more specific, but it just feels cheap: the edges are rough, the hydraulic tensioners don't press smoothly, and the plastic doesn't feel premium. Despite the fact that the returns window was already closed, I decided I had put too much effort into risking details that didn't inspire confidence. So I bought parts direct from Ford for quite a bit of money. Comparing this kit to Ford's, I don't regret my decision at all. This kit is significantly cheaper than Ford parts and for some may be worth the difference. However, I'm spending so much time on this project (maybe you're a better mechanic than me) that it would be a shame not to be 100% sure the parts won't fail.
