I was concerned about the plastic but it's strong. During assembly, please note that a separate insert is provided for the tie rods with a smaller diameter. If yours is thicker like mine and many others, DO NOT use this part. Attempting to use this with a larger diameter rod and then over tightening may damage/tear the plastic, but otherwise installation is a breeze. Just be careful with wires from the electric tongue when installing - don't over-tighten. But it works great and I like the safety circuits and electrical connection top notch. We used a couple of zip ties to secure the trailer's power wire cover to the HITCH BOSS with just enough slack so we didn't have to keep an eye on it. If you mount it high enough on your electric jack, your jack's cover will easily fit over it and prevent water etc from getting on objects during storage.
