Review on 🧀 Swissmar Stelvio 8 Person Stainless Steel Raclette featuring a Granite Stone Top by Sandy Martin

Installation was easy. We have had the device for 2 years now, we use it once a month. Works well. I don't like that the temperature is just a knob for the heating element. We never turned off the maximum setting as the stone was never exposed to a boiling hot temperature. After the first few items are gone, it doesn't really restore the heat. Second, the marble top doesn't touch the heating element, which strikes me as odd. There is about a 1/4 inch gap between them and it seems that this is just a place for heat loss. I don't know if the marble will stand up to direct contact with the elements, but given its stone it looks like it. I have no problem cleaning it, we just let the stone cool overnight and then dip it in the sink with soap and water. Unfortunately after 2 years the stove just broke in half while I was wiping it with a towel, we never dropped it and carefully installed/removed.
