Good raclette grill

It melts cheese, so it does what it needs to. As for cooking at the top, I'm not sure. The top gets hot, but it takes quite a while. As for using it for raclette, it works great. It also has room for 8 pans (most others only have 6), which is good if you have a lot of people. The cord is too short, so order a grounded extension cord if you don't have one. My very first raclette grill was 240v and it worked great. Other grills I've had over the years, 120v, have never been as good. This is 120v…

Everything was fine but it broke in the end

Installation was easy. We have had the device for 2 years now, we use it once a month. Works well. I don't like that the temperature is just a knob for the heating element. We never turned off the maximum setting as the stone was never exposed to a boiling hot temperature. After the first few items are gone, it doesn't really restore the heat. Second, the marble top doesn't touch the heating element, which strikes me as odd. There is about a 1/4 inch gap between them and it seems that this is…

Disappointing Purchase

Having moved to the US from Europe 5 years ago we missed out on one of our favorite family activities: grilling. After reading many positive reviews about the Swissmar grill, we decided to buy it and use it the same day it arrived. The experience was rather disappointing. Although the grill comes with 8 pans, you cannot use it with 8 people. A usable stone area can be 11-12 inches wide, so an ideal area for 4 people.
