Review on πŸ”Œ BEHRINGER CT200 Cable Tester with Microprocessor Control by Patrick Ross

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great unit, very solid build, one feature gap

Bought to test cables prior to a permanent installation and to monitor our fleet of portable cables and it does the job perfectly - quickly and a simple test and many options, including methods for testing already installed cables. Read the instructions, they pretty much cover everything (e.g. resetting after plugging in cables to make sure you don't get false short reads when plugging in cables). One downside, as mentioned by others, is the ability to read the sleeve tip. (TS) cable, such as B. Standard instrument cables - since all connectors are configured for Tip-Ring-Sleeve (TRS) readings, TS cables will register a short. Fine once you get used to it, but since it's microprocessor controlled and not just a quick test it would be nice if there was an option to switch these ports to TS so you can get a clean reading, especially considering how common it is they are. There is. That small complaint aside, really great device, very happy to have it in my toolbox.

Pros
  • Very easy to use thanks to intuitive LED display
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
