Velex is made for boaters who love music

When I bought a used boat, a Kenwood car radio was installed in the passenger side glove box. The Kenwood sounded good, but there are three things I don't like about using the car radio in a boat: it's not waterproof, you can't see the small backlit screen in the sun, and the buttons are too small to fiddle with in water. rocking boat. Also, the glove box door was always open. Velex is designed for boats and sailors who love music! The large, waterproof 3-inch screen is bright and easy to read in the sun and can be dimmed for late-night swimming. The multifunction volume control is large and centrally located where you need it. The volume slider also controls your balance, decay, aux output, volume, and EQ settings. Velex is uncomplicated and very compact for a completely self-contained stereo system. This is a very powerful 500W multimedia receiver for balanced sound even at low volume. Inputs include AM/FM stereo radio, Bluetooth connectivity for your smartphone, USB input for MP3 music or photos/videos from flash drives. It also has a 3.5mm input for connecting to a phone or MP3 player. There is a subwoofer output, a preamp output and a video monitor output. I installed Velex myself on the driver's dashboard of my Sea Ray. I drilled a 3" hole with a hole saw and was lucky that the wiring harness from my Kenwood was the same wire color as the Velex and it was easy to connect the new wiring harness. The Velex subwoofer output integrates well with my subwoofer and amp. The sub-out is controlled by the multifunction volume control. The power and ground wires from my Kenwood were not designed to power the high volume Velex. I ran the 12 gauge power and ground wires straight from the battery as recommended in the Velex installation manual. The Velex's output sound is well balanced and required very little adjustment to make it sound good. It doesn't have to be loud to sound good, but cranked up it sounds really full. I mostly use a flash drive with about 20 hours of MP3 music on it. The sound quality from a flash drive is better than Bluetooth from a phone or listening to FM radio in my opinion. The controls on the front of Velex allow me to quickly scroll through the songs on the flash drive, and when the button is toggled off and back on it picks up where it left off. Once set up, Bluetooth automatically connects to my phone so I can quickly switch to different input sources. I love that the Velex keeps playing for a few seconds when the ignition key is turned from the assist position to the engine start position, the music keeps playing continuously and no need to restart after the engine starts. Velex is a high quality multimedia option for boaters who love music at a reasonable price, I highly recommend it.
