Useless. USB port cards

As mentioned, the screw holes on the low bracket seem to be in the wrong place. The USB ports are on the side, which I liked, but they're a bit wider than the mounting slots, some USB cables are too wide and don't even plug in. I plugged in a standard USB mouse, but again it failed to recognize the device. I was able to connect it twice but both times it disconnected immediately. I ended up fixing the screw holes a bit, installed the device and Windows 10 doesn't recognize it. The only way to install this card is to install dubious Chinese software from the CD that comes with it, which contains a lot of ToS and seems to slow down the computer, and who knows what, send personal data to China. Notification that the USB device is consuming too much power and is overloaded. Even a regular USB mouse! Turns out this isn't mentioned anywhere in this listing, but the card does need to be plugged into an external Molex connector from the PC power supply! My PC's PSU doesn't have any extra power connectors, so I must have been unlucky. Also, my computer has SATA power supply, not Molex. I think I can buy $25 adapters to get my $15 card working. Oh wait, it doesn't work right at the beginning.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish
