I have about 7 oil filter wrenches of all kinds that no longer work to remove the oil filters I use. It seems that different filter manufacturers have done something that has shifted the diameter and/or the same with the filter wrench (cap type) manufacturer where there is no longer a tight fit. There is enough free play in the style of the cap to make it slip off. My new truck has direct access to the oil filter, so just a cap or three-jaw filter will do. This is the third three pine type I've bought and it works like a charm. A little pricey but worth it.
