NOT STAINLESS STEEL NOT 304 NOT EVEN 430 IT'S JUST PLAIN STEEL BUT.
However product and seller have 5 stars, it is a great product and need not be rust free unless used in a NSF atmosphere or other wet areas. BUY IT, YOU ARE GREAT! 5/8" Forstner bit used, just inserted, screwed in, better than NOTHING on the market.
