Review on All Clad Gourmet WD822D51 Waffle Silver by Crystal Smith

This device is nice and well built, but perhaps the most important part of this type of device - the temperature control - is terrible. I'm picky about waffles and want a fluffy interior surrounded by a crispy golden brown exterior. The recipes I use cook this way at 350-360 F in about 4 minutes. I monitor the temperature with an infrared surface thermometer. (Did I mention I'm picky?) The temperature scale on this unit is relative, going from 0 (off) to 7 (?). simply turns green, the temperature in this particular device reaches 350. Also, the difference between the top and bottom plates is about 20 degrees. This is measured by my infrared thermometer, which for everything else is pretty accurate. It's not a cheap device, and while I can get it to work, I'm not happy with it.
