Review on ๐Ÿ“ธ Nikon SB-400 AF Speedlight Flash: Perfect Lighting Solution for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras by Ricky Bedell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It's a fantastic flash with few options

If you're looking to add flexibility to your flash photography, this is a great option. It is compatible with almost all Nikon cameras and does a great job with both fill flash and bounce flash. It has no manual controls. You can only "adjust" the intensity of the flash through the camera body. The only control on the back is the power button. If you just want to add a flash to a professional body, a body with a broken built-in flash, or a film camera, this is a great option for you. If you're looking to get creative with flash in any way, like wireless triggers, manual exposure settings, etc., I'd recommend looking elsewhere. There are many other flashes that give you all the basic features of a hot shoe flash for less money. less than brand flashes (Nikon, Canon, etc.), with some exceptions. Yongnuo YN-560 III Speedlite Flash for Canon and Nikon - GN58 - Built-in 2.4GHz Trigger/Transceiver with full support for RF602/603 triggers. will do everything you need except measure iTTL. In fact, learning how to use flash properly and tailoring its output to the overall mood and subject of your shot can help you. Not to mention a whole host of other features not even found on Nikon Speedlights twice the price! The Nikon Vivitar Digital TTL Autofocus Flash - Black (DF383NIK) offers everything the SB400 can do and more for around the same price. It might not be Nikon, but at least you now have the ability to customize the shot. All in all, the SB400 is an absolutely capable camera, but in the end I wish I had done a little more research beforehand. I bought this. It's great, but only for the ultimate range of applications.
