This clear plastic case is very simple, with just a simple interface board inside the friction case. In terms of cost, this little box is cheaper than most USB 3.0 to SATA III cables and works great. If given a choice I would ask for a LED color other than blue because it is so bright. Or maybe a DIP switch to turn the LED off. In this case I installed a Samsung EVO 860 and connected it to the Mac. It strangely shows both the chassis controller and the Samsung drive. The enclosure is listed as "Best USB Device". I've already formatted the Samsung drive, so I don't know if this needs to be done before installing it in the case. There is no "manual" that came with the case. But it's really plug and play, so it doesn't matter.
