Backgammon is a fun game which is also surprisingly difficult to master-- you can play it at somany different levels.This folding wooden kit is big enough (I don't like the tiny boards and miniscule pieces) but still compact enough to take wherever you like or pack in a suitcase. The board has a nice suede draw string pouch around it and there is another matching smaller pouch for the pieces. There are two carved wood cups and dice. The whole thing can be opened and ready to play in a minute--less than that to put it away.Not sure what the wood is--perhaps bamboo. It has a nice printed design on the outside. The board itself is printed on the inside. There are carved trays built in to hold the pieces when you are playing.This game had its moment in the US 30 years ago--everyone was playing it. It is fun and strategic enough that a new generation should learn it.And this is a great board to learn on.
