First off, the overall look of this fan is a bit cheap. As you can see from the listing photos, the design of the fan is nothing more than a cube. The cube sounds very dull and the plastic looks cheap/thin, think of the bucket picture. For me that's not a deciding factor, I just expected something more durable and reliable. As far as air movement goes, at the end of the day it's a fan that does it pretty well. BUT it is a bit noisy. It has four speed settings and using the decibel meter app on my iPhone I recorded the following decibel levels: Empty room with fan off - 26dB, setting 1 - 44dB, setting 2 - 51dB, setting 3 - 58dB, setting 4 - 62dB, no CFM meter or I would measure the air output but it definitely puts out a decent amount of air even on the lowest settings which I will be using 90% of the time. If you're trying to watch TV or have a casual conversation, you'll find that anything above level 1 is too loud in my opinion. On the other hand, if you just want to circulate and clean the air in the room, choose the fan speed you want and it will get the job done quickly. As for the air outlet, it's worth noting that the device can be oriented so the air comes out vertically (straight up) or at an angle if you really want to feel the air. This is good because most air filter units are vertical only. Overall the fan is of good quality, I wish it was a little quieter. Remember that air noise is created by turbulence and air going through filters, and what not, you create a lot of turbulence so noise is an inherent problem with any filter fan moving a decent cube. I'm not comparing this unit to other fans on the market, I'm just giving my opinion on what's in front of me.
