Review on Fluval C Series Power Filter: 🐠 Enhanced Clip-On Aquarium Filter for Optimal Performance by Brenda Naple

I love these Fluvals! I bought three of these to replace the Marineland 350 Penguin filter pumps I use. First, the Marineland pumps have worked well for a while, but they're also very noisy right out of the box, not to mention they've been running for a while. It was very annoying. But even worse, you have to clean the filters. There's little to no point in cleaning them, so you'll just have to throw them away, meaning you'll lose some of your biofilter. I know biowheels serve that primary purpose, but still. And I hated how when you changed the filters, when you turned the pumps back on, they spat a bunch of disgusting things into your water. Right after you just cleaned the tank! So the main reason why Fluvals are great is that I can't hear them. I only hear the rushing of the water. Wonderful. Second, these fluvals keep the water a lot cleaner on even the best days in the Marinelands. Third, they are very easy to clean. There is a small red tab sticking out at the top if the filter needs cleaning. So you just take it out, give it a good rinse (make sure you dechlorinate the wash water first) and put it back in. Presto. You still have the biofilter, but the mechanical filter is clean. You can also adjust the flow, which is nice. I am very happy with these filters. UPDATE: To be honest these pumps can get noisy after a year or so too. If you take out the impeller, clean it and lubricate the shaft with petroleum jelly, they will calm down. I still prefer these filter pumps to anything else I have used. They are very easy to care for, reliable and still very quiet even after several years of continuous use. New update: Of course I've had these pumps for several years, but they get very noisy and changing the impeller doesn't help. t improve it much or for a very long time. It's sux because they're excellent next to the noise. Thinking about returning to Penguin? I can't stand the noise. They are silent for a while, but eventually become too loud. I have two small Penguin 200's for my 40 gallon and they are almost silent even after 4 years.
