Literature and a small portion of the instructions that came with this product state that the product works on both 7/8" and 1 " can be installed. tubing, but it is definitely not compatible with 1" tubing. When trying to install the product on a 1" T-Top pipe, I found that the clamp and the device itself did not fit the pipe .The 1/4-20 cap screws that came with the product were too short to connect the unit and clamp so I had to go to the hardware store and buy longer stainless steel head screws to complete the installation.Also I have found that any adjustment of the Locking mechanism has to be done with unit disassembled. There is a hex nut on the outside of the unit which should be used for adjustment but it needs to be secured inside with a suitably sized hex tool or it will just spin free. Bad job Shakespeare. Looks good out, but I definitely hope it works without having to take it apart to tweak it often.
