I bought this candle for the first time in November 2016. We put a lantern on our covered porch and set a timer to come on at about 6:00pm every night. It was perfect - we didn't have to open the lantern to light the candle, we liked the realistic flame effect and the plastic didn't melt in the heat. (Originally we had an expensive wax-based flameless candle that didn't last through the summer!) But now the timer has stopped working, although the main switch still works, allowing the candle to be used anywhere. Maybe two years is all we can expect? I liked it so much that I immediately ordered a new one.
