Review on Sizzix Bigz Die Half Square Triangles Scrapbooking & Stamping by Michelle Langley

Always the perfect cut.

I love these stampings. I wish they were sold in my big stores like they sell other Sizzix stamps. I love that I can use the under 6" on my Big Kick, Big Shot or Vagabond and avoid the expense of an expensive Big Shot Pro. At least for now! I have cut tons of fabric and I have cut up to 8 layers that are said to be cut and it cuts through fabric so easily. And also. Gone are those pesky ends on hand-cut triangles! Perfect ends ensure perfect alignment and when you sew your patchwork it's perfect. Have I said "perfect" enough times? You'll love how your "glasses" will be on every block you sew. You will look like a pro! I have all the templates and slicing cutters but this makes creating these parts very quick and accurate. Again, remember that you can only buy 6" wide dies (you CAN use long 25" dies if you buy 25" spacers as long as the die is 6" wide) unless you have Big Shot Pro, then you can use all the stamps. Shame they weren't that expensive - only downside is they appear to be made like other Sizzix Bigz stamps. The price doesn't let me get more from these stamps, but for me it's worth it because I don't throw away expensive fabric because of a bad cut. BEFORE you cut the fabric on the die cutter, think about how you can cut out the entire piece of fabric to avoid too much waste. I found that I cut the strips to the length of the fabric 1/2 wider than the mold size (i.e. for the 4" half square I cut a 4 1/2" strip) and fold over the die over and over until I have 8 layers. Then cut it off and finally keep a pair of scissors nearby so that if the thread gets stuck here and there after you cut it, cut it and NOT tear it off.
