Review on 💧 HuiYu HY-D23130 Self Priming Diaphragm Pump: 12V DC, 1.2 LPM, 30 PSI - Ideal for Water Dispensers, Coolers, and Electric Appliances by Calvin Reynolds

The pump on my Primo hTRIO Bottom Loading Single Portion Hot/Cold/Cold Water Dispenser (601240-B) started dying after two years. Noisy but the water doesn't pump. I bought this pump not knowing how I would install it. This pump works great and took about an hour to install. I'll update this post when it stops working and I'll include my installation instructions here because I wish I'd read them first: 1) Unplug the dispenser 2) Take out the water jug 3) Unscrew the two screws holding the broken one Hold Pump to Dispenser 4) Disconnect the water lines going to and from the pump. I have shark bite clamps. To remove them, first remove the small blue clips, then you need to slide the water lines towards the pump and hold the shark bite clips and pull out the water lines. It's hard to explain how to do that. Hopefully you can google how to unlock shark fittings and find a solution if you're having trouble. If you just can't figure it out, you can cut the water lines where they enter the shark bite sockets and use the metal ties that came with the pump. I haven't tested metal ties so I don't know if they will work, but I don't see why not. 5) At this point, the pump should only be hanging on the two red and black wires. Cut these wires about an inch from the pump. I originally removed the 2 back panels from the dispenser to see if I could connect it from the top. It's impossible (maybe possible, but definitely not easy) so don't bother removing the backing of the dispenser. 6) At this point you need to disconnect and hold the pump. This means you no longer have to lie on your back with your head and shoulders resting on the bottom of the dispenser. Shark-proof fittings must be attached to a defective pump. Remove both as in step 4 and set aside for use on the new pump. 7) Take a new pump and cut off the connector at the end of the wires (it can't be used. You only need about 6-12 inches of wire from the pump). Then strip the ends of both wires. You'll need about an inch of bare metal wire on each of the wires. to a new pump. Remove the red caps from the new pump and simply slide the shark bite connectors onto the new pump, then attach the small blue clips to the shark bite connectors. Pull a little on each bite connector to make sure it's secure. 8) Strip about an inch of the two wires hanging down the bottom of the dispenser. You should have two wires hanging down with 1 inch of bare metal on the end of each wire, as well as hanging water supply line. down.9) Screw on the new pump in the same place where the old pump was, using the two screws you removed to loosen the old pump.10) Connect the red wire from the new pump with the red cable hanging from the dispenser. Twist them well and use a small wire nut to secure the connection. Do the same with the black wire. If it's easy and there's enough slack, insert the wires into the hole up to the second tier of the dispenser so the wire nuts don't get in the way and you don't have to be very careful when changing the water jug. 11) Connect the water lines to the new pump by inserting them into the shark bite connectors and replacing the blue clips on the shark bite connectors. 12) Reconnect the dispenser.
