I installed it on my Subaru using a wire harness from a junkyard jeep. I am very happy with the light it gives off. It's a lot brighter than the OEM under engine lights on my old F150. The switch itself is disturbingly crude inside - just a clattering ball rolling over the contacts when the hood is open - but it's far more efficient and reliable than, say, Mercury. Switch in my old F150.
