I get a lot of water in my basement when it rains so I bought some temporary fixes while I have a more permanent job. The big "quick dams" from the hardware store worked great, but they're bulky and usually work with a shot or something. These "new newts" are smaller, and while they don't absorb moisture as well as larger newts, they have the advantage of being reusable. Previously we'd spin a few soaked ones (two at a time) into the washer, then remove the almost completely dry "pigs" and run a rinse cycle in the empty washer to get rid of any residue. So far this is working fine. Hopefully we won't have to use them as much after the contractor is done.
