Review on Crosley CR62 BK Kettle Classic Technology by Teresa Wiggins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I love vintage rotary phones and have a few .

I love vintage rotary phones, I have a few 30's and 40's but their high cost makes me hesitant to use them regularly and keep them mostly for shows. I bought a Crosley candle holder and I really like it - not only does it look cool, it's the same weight and fabric cord as the original. so it was a decent "day selector". I wanted a living room phone that matched my vintage decor and could be used while lying down (which the candlestick doesn't work for) - so I ordered this phone, which is modeled after the candlestick. Lightweight cell phones from the 90's 30's. The handset on this phone is much lighter than the Crosley Candlestick. I was hoping they weighed it the same way to give it the "weight" of old phones. and the feeling of old receivers in the hand. It's lightweight, but it's comfortable and the sound quality is loud and clear. The call works fine. not too loud or disturbing. Unfortunately, the cord is twisted rather than a straight cord covered in fabric. A straight cable would be better. But I have to say that they did a good job with this cable. This is not a cheap flat coil cable. but a rounded spool that resists compression and stretching much more than the flat spool versions. This cord should hold its appearance for some time unless you're the kind of person who insists on pulling the cord out. Reproduction. Other reviewers seem bent into shape so it doesn't look quite like the real thing. Of course not! This is a reproduction meant to give you a LOOK - which it does. It LOOKS great standing on my desk - fits my 30's-40's style perfectly and works well as a phone for everyday use.
