It's not worth it!

I love working with water brushes and wanted to expand my collection so I have a water brush for each color of ink I use as well as several brushes that are unique to can water with watercolor. Since the price was great for them, they seemed like a good option, but you really get what you pay for. They appear to be very simply/cheaply made and as such just don't work the way waterbrushes are supposed to. In other words, they work terribly. First, the bristles of the brush are pointless. They look like they came straight out of the box, but they were molded that way. Once you've actually washed off the sticky stuff, If you hold on to the tip (it feels like dry hairspray) there's no point anymore and you'll never get it back. The bristles are very jagged. The whole idea of a water brush is self-wetting properties, but they don't handle normal writing/drawing pressure as well as other water brushes. If you press a little harder (I mean just a little), either not much happens or you get big drops of ink (or drops of water). Sometimes the water/ink even comes out at the top where the tip screws into the tank's handle! There seems to be very little intermediate layer between them. Either it dries up or you flood it. And it can be completely random. This problem is mainly because it is really just a plastic cap with a hole, to which the bristles are glued. Other water brushes have an entire mechanism that provides flow, prevents dripping, etc. Not this one! All in all a pretty useless brush set and waste of money!

Pros
  • Ideal for use in the classroom or at home
Cons
  • Only available in white
