This mirror is single sided. It is made of clear plastic/plexiglass with a reflective coating on the back. The mirror attaches to the chain and bell with a ring in the shape of a keychain. There is a hook closure at the top of the chain. This is very different from the product images. It is NOT safe for birds. Birds easily scrape off the reflective coating on the back of the mirror with their beaks. The chain has large but thin links. It is easier for a bird to get its foot caught between the links of the chain. Also, it turned out that part of the bell on the bell was rusty/corroded. I didn't even have to take it out of my pocket to make sure it wasn't safe.
