Helping my 90 year old dad get up from his chair at the table is great, especially since his apartment has concrete ceilings and floors. Installation is a bear if you don't have a helper: the product is basically stacked 2ft sections of pipe that rub against each other and swing like crazy until the adjusting nut is tightened. It is very difficult to keep the bar from swinging when using the wrench provided. I think they should have gone with longer sections, although that would have meant a larger shipping box. Also, I would hesitate to use it on a drywall ceiling without being sure it would hit the joists. We got it working - my dad LOVES it - he forgot about it while he was away.
