I expected them to be well made from Carhartt but should have listened to some other reviews. They look thin and cheaply made. They're not very warm at all. The flap of the mitten and the flap for the thumb gusset at the back and must be fixed with a magnet. This sounds smart in theory, but in practice the magnet isn't strong enough to hold the valve, so it keeps flipping back. Even worse is the fact that the not-so-useful magnet is cold and uncomfortable for your hands all the time. This part should better be replaced with Velcro. or it would be even better if they did nothing but just let the flap fold. These gloves are disappointing. You can use fleece lining or something else to keep them warm or comfortable. You feel like you're wearing cold rubber gloves that don't bend well. The thumb flap might seem like a good idea, but it's useless and just plain stupid. Worry, you'll end up with a cold magnet to rub against your thumb knuckle. You may find it more convenient to take a pair of old socks with holes and slip them over your hands instead. It would be more comfortable and warmer and certainly cheaper. These stink.
