While this item is well made it does not work as intended. The bottom compartment isn't big enough to hold many things, it only fit 3 of my 8 eyeshadow palettes, but the other part of this organizer can't stand on it as the picture shows. Next, one that's meant to work as a makeup brush holder has two downsides. First, it's not deep enough. Most makeup brushes are 5 inches long or longer, some of mine are 8 inches long. However, this cube can be 2 inches deep, causing brushes, especially those with thick bristles, to be too heavy and fall off. This may have been fixed with a black crosshatched rubber brush spacer, this is the issue number instead. 2. He's too loose. The rubber is too elastic and therefore cannot hold the brushes upright. This is how my longer, heavier brushes fall straight out. I think I could use it as a lipstick/gloss holder but I have 3 in total. I love lip balms more and always keep them in my pocket or purse. Lip balm won't do much good if you leave it in a drawer at home. So it doesn't work as a makeup stand/organizer but I gave it to my daughter, she uses it as both a marker stand and crayon tray, she is happy.
