Addictive and fun! - Tile Games

Oh my god this game has me and my husband hooked and we can't let go. The product description says it's addictive, and it really is. We're in our 60's and were looking for something new, fun and different from our usual Parchesi, Sorry, Scrabble and Rummy Challenge games. We got this in hopes that it would provide challenges, new ways of thinking, fun, short play times, and be a game that isn't inherently random (like many decks of cards) but instead requires advance planning, spatial awareness, etc. , It does. We like it very much. First, the board and all the details are beautifully painted and made. The figures are strong and that is important and necessary because the game boards and tiles are made of cardboard. The pawns are either wooden or hard plastic, I don't know what, and the gems you collect on your jungle journey are plastic. In any case, everything is designed to last. The layout is simple. The directions were a bit tricky for us though, but that's probably because we're old. Although it's easy to fix. We just went to You Tube where there are some videos on how to play the game and that saved us. Playing time is around 20-25 minutes as each player moves their adventurer across the board to the temple of the same color. With each round you lay out tiles that will hopefully lead you there, but you have to watch out for crossing paths that lead to other temples. Either way, it's an entertaining game that fully deserves the Game of the Year award and is easy to pick up for kids and adults alike.
