Worst screen in the house

Not sure if this is a feature of curved monitors or this particular one. But this thing has an awful picture next to every other 1080p monitor I have in the house. I will probably give this. The physical controls/buttons on the monitor are terrible. A strange joystick on the back of the monitor. I only use it occasionally for volume, but if you needed to navigate menus or enter data using the buttons on this monitor, that would be a big problem. The speaker faces the back of this monitor. This makes no sense and effectively makes the onboard audio either piercingly loud or very quiet/muffled. I created the encasement with a sheet of plastic hanging over the speaker cabinet and bouncing the sound back to me, it's a little bit better but still pretty bad. There's an AUX port for audio output, which is probably the best feature of this display. Not only is the power supply and plug unique to this monitor, but it comes with a massive built-in power supply that I had to install in the back. on my desk, otherwise its weight will dangle in the air and pull on the mains plug connected to the monitor. You can't use a regular cable that is used by 90% of monitors and PC power supplies. Another terrible design choice. Display ports are limited. A HDMI, VGA and DVI. So if you have DisplayPort cables, you must use HDMI-to-DP if you need DP on one end. I didn't think it would be a problem when I bought it, but it was a huge pain. I could do without VGA or DVI instead of DP. You can probably get VGA and DVI monitors for free or very cheaply. I don't know why they are still put on monitors. Adapters exist to go from an old port to a newer port. You lose all qualities. If you adapt to VGA/DVI, you can at least remove the adapter and restore your quality. Ultimately, the HDMI switch and DP to HDMI cable saved the life of those monitors in my house. Also the AUX audio out helped fix the terrible built in speakers (poor quality mainly due to the orientation). However, you may need a mile-long AUX cable. (Which, for some reason, is a small fraction of the price when you buy an AUX extension cord instead of an actual two-way AUX cord. Buy a shorter AUX cord and plug it into a multi-foot AUX extension cord .You save money.!)
