This is exactly what I was looking for. I have a clear glass Bodum teapot that I recently bought for loose tea. The problem I have is that I love strong tea, so I brew it longer than most. In the end, my tea naturally goes from pleasantly hot to just warm. I bought this product to counteract this and keep the tea hot throughout the brewing process and afterwards while slowly sipping from the kettle. This is a relatively simple product to be honest, so its functionality really doesn't depend too much on any aspect. Draft. I choose this for purely aesthetic reasons. The metal is thick enough that I don't have to worry about it deforming too much during storage. The only reason it gets 4 out of 5 is something about my particular kettle and how it fits on top. My kettle tapers downwards like most. The kettle has an opening to allow the candle to do its job and transfer heat to the kettle without overheating the heating metal. The problem I have is that my kettle is still a bit round and therefore needs to be placed correctly on a warmer. Otherwise it may tip over and possibly spill. Not all kettles have this problem. If there was some sort of trellis over the hole, it would make the pot safer. Instead, I find something so that I can confidently place my kettle on the heating pad without fear of tipping over or spilling. Overall still a great product and I have no regrets buying it but my particular kettle is not 100% safe when placed on the heater.
