I can only say a little about the strength as these shelves mainly hold the yarn. But it seems pretty solid if you don't have to load it with all those hardcovers. Based on that alone, this would be a 5 star rating. The assembly is easy, even with some gaps in the assembly instructions (see photos with handwritten annotations and videos for a better and safer way to install the door.). Just because it's easy doesn't mean it only takes 20 minutes. In fact, the time estimate in the current listing's description is a blatant lie - not even close! I'm not a carpenter or anything like that by trade, but I have a lot of experience assembling many similar pieces of furniture. The first bookshelf took me about 2½ HOURS. I ordered several so on subsequent builds I was able to get it in just under 2 hours but still nowhere near 20 minutes. And this build required the use of a drill with a hex wrench, so add about another half hour to using the hex wrench to manually drive in 48 long screws. Another lie in the listing description: the device I received does not have adjustable feet. Fortunately, this false advertising doesn't stop me from putting these bookshelves on a low-pile carpet. Whether the above issues are due to a lack of honesty or gross incompetence, deducting just 2 stars for false advertising is generous.
