Bought to practice braiding, styling and feeding. The hair looks like an African American woman's natural hair that has been recently blow dried. He's fat and long. I washed and deep conditioned my hair and let it air dry before doing anything. It sheds, the brochure says this is normal and should stop after a few washes and uses, so we'll see. Overall a good product if you want to practice black hair
