Review on ๐Ÿ  Lominie Full Spectrum LED Aquarium Light for Saltwater and Freshwater Coral, Reef, Planted Nano Tanks by Kelly Starr

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent light with good color rendering index

On the left are photos of the tank of the previous lamp, on the right the Asta Planted model. The color rendering index is significantly higher on the Asta - that would be a good light source if you enjoy photographing your aquarium. The plant version comes with two lenses and a dimmer. Using a 60 degree lens focuses the light at a narrower point and makes it a little stronger. I liked the standard 180 lens better, but a 60 lens would be good for a tall tank or decorative lighting. Attached are two photos comparing lenses to lights mounted on a 7 inch vase. For some reason the 60 degree camera has streaks when shooting from above. The light was brighter than expected so the dimmer was a nice feature - in my 2.5 gallon nano tank the light was overloaded and cranked up. Algae if I don't turn it off a bit. The light can be dimmed to an almost imperceptible level. I deducted a star as the dimmer needs to be adjusted slowly in order for it to work properly. When the dial is turned quickly, the light level goes from brightest to darkest with no intermediate value. Most of us won't adjust the lights that often, but it's worth noting. Overall, I like this lamp very much. The gooseneck holds its position, the photos look believable and it lights up my tank well. A small issue with the dimmer, but that shouldn't be a problem for most people. I would recommend this lamp.
