Over the years I have purchased and installed six to eight ceiling fans. The Hunters seem to be a step above many others in terms of fan quality, handy instructions, and ease of installation. This fan is no exception. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the error in the instructions. The hardest part for me was what should have been the easiest - installing a ball of light in the end. Nowhere in the instructions is it mentioned that the pull chain for the fan is routed through two indiscreet holes in the lantern's inner casing next to the bulbs. Without realizing it, I couldn't figure out what to do with this chain or how to properly thread it through the globe so I could pull it freely without friction. To make matters worse, threading the ball retainer onto the threaded stud caused the chain to constantly wrap around the machine, forcing me to untangle it with every twist to try and get the ball in place to keep. There must be an easier way, but I couldn't find it. Needless to say, this simple step took me over half an hour and I blame the instructions which were otherwise excellent. All the parts were in separate bags and were marked with geometric symbols, they were well packaged and I even liked that the pull chain hangers for the light and fan have symbols to tell which one works for each operator. A cool looking, quiet running fan that was a little harder to install than it should have been.
