I've compared it to the popular round window/glass alarm and it's very similar except you can activate it remotely. To further reduce sensitivity, you can double fold the double-sided tape to absorb shock, which reduces sensitivity. Aside from the remote control and angle sensor, there is one other difference worth noting. This alarm has a two-stage activation (warning/full activation). The first level or warning level, the alarm will be activated for 3 seconds, then the siren will be turned off. The alarm will continue to be monitored and if the device is triggered again within 10 seconds, the 2nd stage will activate and the alarm will sound for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds the alarm resets like any other alarm in this category. The siren is as loud as the others. This dainty little alarm clock is worth every penny. The plastic looks cheap but is fine for my use. I use it for garage doors. The battery cover is difficult to open as there's no raised plastic to grab your thumb on, but it's easy with something flat like a flathead screwdriver. Battery life has to be determined over time, but after a full hour of fiddling with the alarm, the battery voltage dropped from 1.56 to 1.54 volts. Additionally, batteries (2 AAA) are readily available compared to the hard-to-find button batteries that other devices require. I can get a waterproof version for my fence gate. This alarm is very easy to use, just like any normal keychain. Understanding the functionality and mechanics of the sensor determines the success of the product. The sensitivity setting is the only thing you need to set and this information is not included in the general instructions. However, it is better to refer to the instructions in the information block or in the FAQ section. It's a bit misleading or insufficient when it comes to adjusting the sensitivity. Follow the provided instructions to enter and adjust the sensitivity. It's actually pretty simple. With the alarm off, hold down the power button for about 6 seconds, but you don't really need to count. Just watch the blue LED on the remote turn on and then turn off for a second or two and then turn back on, but again. You can release the power button at this point. To adjust and navigate the ten levels of sensitivity, simply press the doorbell button (the bottom button with the image of the doorbell). A beep confirms each step. The most sensitive setting is represented by a long beep. All other levels are confirmed by a short beep. This is where it gets confusing. Remember, if you hear a long beep, you have the highest sensitivity setting (e.g. level 10). Each subsequent beep decreases sensitivity by one level. So consider going from level 10 and back to level 1 where it is the least sensitive to vibration and shock. To set it to medium range, first listen and listen for a long beep. Then press the call button 4 or 5 times. Press the Off button to confirm and exit. To set it back to the least sensitive setting. Find the long beep first. The setup layout is a bit confusing and I believe that's why the product is getting negative reviews because it's too is sensitive . I have checked that the levels and sensitivity levels are set correctly, but the alarms should be set correctly. Due to the tilt sensor design, it is ideal to mount the alarm horizontally (horizontally on the back) or straight vertically on the bottom or top (the round speaker is on the front top). The angle sensor works like a leveling bubble but uses some sort of free rolling ball or something and when the alarm is tilted the ball rolls all the way and sets off the alarm. The alarm needs to be set so that the ball stays in the middle and not at the end for it to work properly.
