Product is actually 25 1/8" long, not 26.2" as advertised. I agree - I bought it to screw into the side of an Ikea desk for easy power management. . He's great for that. In fact, it comes with mounting hardware in the form of stamped sheet metal brackets that can be screwed to objects. The bolts and nuts that come with the kit are for attaching these brackets to the T-slot and won't help you screw into wood, but you can just use any old wood screw on the brackets, no problem. See attached image - I think the mounting hardware was probably added to the product later on when some reviews claimed it was not possible to mount.
