Review on Sun Mountain Speed Cart GX - Golfing Gear for Optimal Performance by Chris Spoja

Revainrating 5 out of 5

But I really like the cart.

I've waited 6 weeks to write this review. I use this cart 3 times a week. First the positives: this cart is really easy to push, probably because of the big wheels. It has 2 pockets and 1 covered area with magnetic closure. It folds up very easily and fits in my bag (Sun Mountain) with no problems. Can be folded with the bag attached, but that makes it too heavy (for me) to maneuver easily in the car. The handbrake works well but sometimes it kicks in when I'm on the green. Those must be pesky squirrels. I would rate it 5 stars but for 2 issues. First, do Sun Mountain engineers read any reviews? Some of them pointed out a problem with the carriage moving slightly to the right. I read them and bought the car anyway, thinking that the company would see these reviews and make any necessary corrections to rectify the situation. Not correct! It doesn't drift much, but it's definitely there. And unlike the old Sun Mountain carts, there is no front wheel adjustment to fix this. Second, there were NO documents in the box that would show how to fold/unfold it. Each of the folding points has a lever and a dial for adjusting the tension of the lever. What is the correct order to use them? I had to figure it out through trial and error. The end user shouldn't have to guess. What are all the functions of the trolley and how to use them? The covered area with magnetic closure mentioned above – what is it for? Is that for the score card and pencil as there is no outside block for that? I would buy it again - definitely. But it would be nice to have a little help in those two areas.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • something different
