They are very comfortable but I went up a size as advised. I used them when I went down the river and they stayed on my feet and also licked water. They might feel a little big when you put them on, but if you wear them and your heel doesn't slip out of your back, you're probably the right size, even if they feel big in the toe box. The reason I didn't give these shoes five stars is that the area around the ankle rubs on the ankle and arch of the foot. It doesn't hurt, but I've had dark spots on my ankles in the past due to shoes that did this, although the friction didn't bother me at the time.
