For the price they are pretty decent rods, the colors are quite bright and varied and as the description says there are many different types including Glitter and neon and metallic. A few "swirls" is fine, I've found that swirl gel pens in general tend to skip more than the regular types. Skip if you can fix it yourself: Sometimes it seems like it's just a tear in the ink, in which case a few minutes of tape or snapping your fingers often moves the ink down, but other times it seems like there's something in the Cartridge blocking them, for example the cartridge may not be completely hollow and no clicks can clear it. I've only found a small handful that weren't working properly and I couldn't fix them. Overall I am very happy with the number of refills for the price and the quality of the ink.
